Cruise is the Word!!!!!

The cruising market have done it again, According to the telegraph newspaper and new figures revealed by CLIA UK & Ireland, sales for  UK cruise holidays in 2013 are at a all time high and have beaten  a new record 1 million passenger for the first time.

Other figures released showed a 10% rise is UK port departures for Brits and international customers. The most popular route is still the Mediterranean for 2013 however this is closely followed by North Europe and the Fjords with 1 in 3 cruise passengers making it their first choice of route. Personally I have experienced more and more people opting for the fantastic value cruises to this area bring along with the chance to visit somewhere a little different.

SO with all these achievement’s, hard work and support from cruise customers, there is no surprise that the UK has once again retained top ranking  of Europe’s biggest cruise market, accounting for 27% of cruise passengers

Good news for cruising didn’t stop there, it was also announced that the demand for river cruising continued to grow with 20,000 British traveller choosing a   European river cruise in 2013, taking the total to almost 110,000 passengers. River cruising Is fairly new to this market and it great to hear that its is getting bigger and better very year.

So what can we keep expect in 2014? With the new giants of the cruising world launching the Likes of Anthem of the Seas and P&O’s Britannia both based from Southampton, and recent news that the Royal Princess will too come home to Southampton in 2015, I don’t think we will need to worry about our UK top spot next year!
