MSC Cruise Food

Cruise ships are well known for their outstanding food, exceptional choices and innovative ideas – even more so with the new ‘Dynamic Dining’ option being offered on Royal Caribbean’s new Quantum Class ships and more and more ‘Heston’ style dishes and dining experiences being added to cruise lines’ lists of on board options.

Have a look at these dishes – they’re amazing!!

Celebrity have Qsine which is outstanding

In Qsine, even the way you order your food is innovative.

Having sailed with both Celebrity and Royal Caribbean myself, I can vouch for their food – it really is some of the best I’ve had.

I’ve not sailed with MSC before but I am going on Preziosa in November for 4 nights to find out for myself what MSC are really like.

The standards and ideas are getting better and better by the year in the cruising industry.  Where do they go from here? I can’t imagine it getting any better than it already is?!

I came across this and thought I’d share it with you.

It’s titled ‘Top 10 dishes available on an MSC Cruise’ and these are the pictures that accompanied the information and were supplied by MSC.

I’m a huge Sushi fan so that definitely does it for me!

Have you been on an MSC cruise?  Did you try any of the above dishes?  How did it compare to other cruise lines you’ve sailed with?  Let me know your thoughts and recommendations so that I can be sure to check them out myself once on board!

  1. MSC food is excellent in flavor and presentation I went on the Divina two times in five months second time took friends and they just loved it from the food to the entertainment to the decoration of the ship. It’s worth every penny it was the best ship I have been on in years. I’ve been on over 25 cruises

  2. WE have cruised 4 times with MSC , but never again. We found the food very bland and usually only luke warm and NEVER hot. Ships are mostly full of non English , so conversation limited and MSC club staff unhelpful and ill informed. MSC….. No Thanks.

  3. We sailed on MSC last year and the ship was amazing. The food, however, was not. The buffet occasionally had some nice things, an excellent curry for one, but in the dining room the food was what I would call “things you could cook at home”. A lot of it was bought in, cakes and desserts were generally disappointing except on Gala nights when they actually made the Tiramisu. Not a great pasta lover its true but pasta is a cheap filler and a sack full goes a long way. Cooked breakfasts in the buffet were awful. There was never anything special such a juicy steaks or giant prawns. It was cooked well enough but the quality was nothing special.

  4. Msc food is very good and plenty of choise we r going sept to the med on the preziosa we used this ship last sept as well love msc

  5. Have no idea what MSC ship you are talking about and where on earth the pictures have come from. Me and my partner have just returned from cruise on the MSC Opera. Worst food ever. PRAWNS, STEAK, FRESH FISH, OR ANY FISH FOR THAT MATTER, SUSHI, FRESH VEGETABLES ???? (Soggy Cold Broccoli, Some sort of cold wedge shaped boiled / friend (not sure witch way they had been ? cooked ) Cardboard style cold chips. Occasional glimpse of a Peppers, Aubergine and Zucchinni. That was pretty well the main vegetable selection. WHEN and IF you got it in the dinning room ( you had to almost beg for some veg) it would arrive limp and cold.
I could go on and on about the food but it would take all day. We practically dined off Pizza’s when we were onboard These I will say were awesome BUT we did not go on a cruise to eat from a self service take away Pizza joint. Cabin was really only suitable for little people large bed in center of room ( well it was the room really ) wall mounted bunk beds folded up each side of bed so, you had to remember to lowe your body right down or, walk on a side angle whenever you got out of bed OR ELSE ! and yes we had a few good head bangs.I could go on and on,Horrible Stain on toilet lid, Weird loud banging sounds coming from ??? nobody knew where, nobody knew anthing about it or what it could be. Then 4 days into the cruise it was admitted that it had been reported by the previous occupants ( No doubt it was reported by the occupants after us ) The whole onboard experience was very, very poor. Would NEVER EVER go on a cruise with this comapny again. We did go on the MSC MUsica few years ago to Venice and it as lovely so assume the standard has dropped down to an all time low.

  6. Have been on Musica recently. Ship & balcony cabin lovely.
Food atrocious. Buffet food cold even when a new tray was brought out. Dining room food poor and cold. Coffee in buffet disgusting but if you looked hard enough at breakfast there were sachets of Nescafé. Keep a supply as these are removed after breakfast. Thank goodness for fresh fruit!
