Thomson Cruise have upgraded their fleet!

Thomson cruise have just upgraded their fleet with the purchase of the Splendour of the seas from Royal Caribbean.

Not only will the ship be the largest is the Thomson fleet but comes fitted out with facilities including a rock climbing wall, plenty of bars and restaurants and mini golf!

How will the Thomson regular customer react to this purchase?

Thomson have loyal customers who love the small ship experience. Will this open the cruise line to a whole new market? Thomson cruises are perfect for taking your first cruise and I think it will attract many more cruisers to Thomson by offering these extra features on-board.

The new ship will enter service for Thomson in summer 2016 and sales will commence in April this year. I wonder where the ship will be based. I would think, Majorca where currently the Thomson Dream has its home for this summer. Palma has always been the most popular cruise for Thomson offering the Italian, French and Spanish port experience.

Almost 40% of the cabins on the Splendour of the seas have a balcony which is fantastic because across the other ships in the fleet, balconies are few and far between. This is a big bonus to the company and could bring in a whole new type of cruiser.

Thomson Cruise offer fantastic itineraries because they sail from the heart of the Mediterranean and Caribbean. My favourite itinerary for this summer has to be the cruises from Dubrovnik on the Thomson Celebration. The ports are so unusual and you can visit places you can only read about!

The big attraction about Thomson Cruises is the number of UK airports you can fly from. With over 18 local departures, the choice is fantastic! Gratuities are included in the price and when you think that the price can be as much as £100 for a 14 night cruise, it can be a big saving.

I must also mention that Cruise.co.uk match Thomson cruise website prices. So we will not be beaten on any Thomson Cruise! Brilliant!
