Fit for a Queen!

Last weekend I was lucky enough to take my first venture with Cunard on the Queen Mary 2 over to Bruges on a mini cruise. The tip was organised specially for Cruise.co.uk. A combination of annual conference and Christmas party. The ship is amazing!

Like any mini cruise, the check in was fairly slow but the staff were very friendly and made us feel very welcome. I was nervous about the location of my cabin 5001 which was an outside cabin with a porthole window located right at the front of the ship. Middle of back is normally my chosen location because I can get rather sea sick, however I was reassured that because the ship was purpose built for the Atlantic that I would be perfectly ok, and I was!

The cabin was lovely. Very bright and spacious. The bed was so cosy and the pillow choice was excellent. I had no trouble sleeping!

We then went to the buffet for some lunch. Wow it was slow! Not sure if it was everyone was hungry at the same time or because the ship had to have a deep clean before we boarded. It was certainly worth the wait though. The food was fantastic. I only wish I had more time to enjoy a little more.

Then I had just enough time for a look round the ship before the conference welcome commenced.

The ship was very festive. I lost count of the number of Christmas trees!

The top deck is beautiful even in the cold winter and sailaway was celebrated with fireworks.

Then just enough time for a quick drink in the Golden Lion pub before dinner was served in the Britannia restaurant!

Read more next week about the QM2!

Happy Christmas
