Can you lose weight rather than gain it whilst on your cruise

Everyone knows from experience or from speaking to others that it can be very easy to put on weight whilst on a cruise.

Cruise ships have an abundance of food that you virtually cannot escape, especially with the quality being so high and the choice so large it is very hard to say no.

I did speak to some of my passengers recently who said that they always lose weight whilst they are on board their cruises.

I was quite surprised to hear this and asked them how they manage to do this. Unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be a secret magical formula, they said that they go to the gym everyday, fitness classes and try to eat as healthily as possible.

Whilst I applaud these people and their self discipline I personally will admit to being with the vast majority of us that like to over indulge whilst I am on a cruise. After all you are on holiday, it is your “me” time, if you can’t ‘treat yourself’ whilst you are on your cruise then when can you.

Normally most cruises have plenty of ports to visit and at least a reasonable amount of walking is done to try and work some of it off.

I personally think it is fine to have whatever you like on your cruise, you can always diet when you get back to try and make your clothes fit properly again !

I have been on a diet recently as I wanted to lose some weight. I have really made an effort to eat more healthily and I have lost about 3 stone in total. I tell you that will definitely temporarily go out of the window when I next get chance to treat myself on a cruise.
