Suite’s You Sir

More and more people are now booking suites on a cruise rather than go for the usual inside/outside/balcony cabins. Suites of course are the most expensive type of accommodation, so would it surprise you to know that these are the ones that always get booked up first?  Let’s not forget though that there are not vast amounts of suites available and competition is fierce especially for those that offer more exclusive perks.

Apart from the wonderful lush furnishings in a suite, and of course the sheer size of some of them what else do you get for your money?

Suite types do vary from cruise line to cruise line but what you do get is I think worth it. For a start you get the usual concierge service which can be used for booking that speciality restaurant or in the spa or how about that sold out excursion you so wanted to do. Most suites have their very own restaurants to eat in.  Then there is the priority embarkation and disembarkation – no more standing in those long queues!  In the real “deluxe” suites there is of course the butler who is on hand to assist, from taking your dry cleaning to be done to serving you canapes and even packing and unpacking for you!  There is also the likes of real coffee machines, bath robes and slippers, nicer toiletries too!

Some of the most fantastic suites you can stay in would be not out of place in a 6 star hotel and if you have the money you should most certainly try the Master Suite with Regent Seven Seas or the Queens Grill Grand Duplex with Cunard, the Owners suite with Oceania or how about the Winter Garden suite with Seabourn all luxury personified.

If you have a larger family or friends and want to stay together then do not forget the likes of Haven suites with NCL cruises – up to 3 bedrooms. I really like Royal Caribbean’s different suites on offer from 2 bedroom suites to family connected suites a great choice for anyone.  Princess cruises from December of this year have also introduced Club Class suites which have all of the usual suite amenities – must admit they look and sound good!

Now I have tempted you with a suite what if it is just too expensive? Well there is the option of going for a mini suite. I would go for a mini suite if you want that extra space and not too bothered about perks, they are bigger than your normal cabins but if you really want to be pampered then it’s a suite all the way!

Alot of choice for you, if you do decide on one please try not to leave it till the last minute.
