Compare, You May Be Surprised!

Are they a few of you out there who are perhaps a little “cheesed” off with the cruise lines?  Service perhaps going downhill a little? Waiting ages to get served? Excursion prices too expensive? Food not as good as it used to be?  To be honest with you, I have heard this from a few of you. Not awful I may add but just not what you remember or the favourite word is “cutting corners.”

After experiencing Seabourn recently I can say hand on heart that if you experience a “luxury” cruise line I am 100% confident you certainly would not be saying anyone was cutting corners.

Most people when you mention “luxury” automatically think big money.  Well, yes you do pay more however when you compare what you are getting for that price, then it could get very interesting!  Who is luxury though?  In my book, Seabourn, Silverseas, Regent, Crystal, Oceania, and Sea Dream.  I should also mention Azamara also who are very much up there in the “premium” sector.  What they all have in common is they are basically small ships with fewer passengers on, which then equates to staff to client ratio, which is important.  No more looking for sun beds they are plentiful. Drinks are included (Oceania is the exception – drinks included in a promotion) and not just local brands we are talking about premium brands.  No more deciding on a time to eat – all open dining eat when you want and with whom.  Excursions are included with Regent. No more tips to pay they are included. Cabin (or should I say suites) sizes are bigger then the normal.

I have cruised with 3 of the above and for me the main thing that hits me every single time is the service. It is not over the top but just there when you need it – absolutely exceptional.  The feeling of space is another thing that I love and also it does not feel “posh!” – just lovely!

Throughout the year we do have select “luxury events” where you can come along, meet some of us but more importantly meet the cruise line and see for yourself just what I am going on about! Watch out for these.

My husband always tells me that and I quote – “just because I work in a Porsche garage, does not mean I can have a Porsche car” and he is right however, everyone deserves a Porsche car or similar at some point in their life – is that not what we work for?!

Till next time x
