‘That’s when good neighbours become good friends’

I have just had a lovely conversation with a lady who has recently returned from a Regent Seven Seas cruise and she told me of a special little touch that Regent include at the start of their cruises to help everyone relax and meet each other.

About an hour into the cruise everyone is encouraged to get a glass and stand outside their suite for the ‘block party.’  Enjoy a drink and nibbles served by the staff  and meet your neighbours properly instead of just nodding at them as so often happens in the corridor.

At the same time the Captain and the Cruise Director rush around the decks greeting everyone and adding to the sense of occasion. This is something that neither myself or my customer have come across with any other cruise line and which was very well received by all of the guests on board. Often you only really meet those that you are dining with, but when you are spending many days next door to a couple it’s nice to know who they are – well done Regent.
