The variety of questions is emense from clients who are going to be travelling to Vietnam & Cambodia, so here is my 2nd part of some helpful tips & advise.

CURRENCY; -DOLLARS- This initially caused a few problems but not for long, I wanted to obtain the currencies for both Countries I was going to be visiting – as you do – however it was not to be. Vietnamese Dong, I visited a couple of banks and travel agencies, couldnt get anything at all so I ordered some from my local  Post Office, only to to called a couple of days later to be told – no can do – They had tried to order some for me, but came upon a few stumbling blocks. Then I tried to obtain some Cambodian Riel, this was even worse no one would even entertain trying to obtain any it was just impossible. The answer US $. Easy to convert and everyone hotel, Bar, Shop accepted them, so just go for the easy option straight away.

LUGGAGE; – Baggage allowance on most airlines such as Thai & Singapore you will be entitled to 1 x piece of luggage the maximum allowed with both of these airlines is 20kg per person, you will find the porterage will accept only one piece, if you take extra then an additional charge may have to be met, it might be a good idea to have a small carry on bag especially if your tour includes Sapa or Ha Long Bay. Make sure you have your passport, airline tickets, medication and all of your travel documents (Visa’s) with you in your hand luggage.

OTHER NECESSITIES TO PACK; – Be sure to pack your passport, wallet (cash & credit cards) money belt is a good idea especailly if jumping on and off of the small rafts around the floating markets etc. Rain tops are provided on board the ship for when they detect a rainy period- but you may wish to still bring your own, sunglasses, camera, sunscreen and lip balm, hat (a must) Deet –YOU CAN NOT GO ON THIS TYPE OF TRIP WITHOUT DEET. bottles of water are provided for you each day free of charge in your fridge in your cabin. Make sure you take it out with every single day as the temperatures can get  very very hot and on some of the excursions you may do a lot of walking .PLEASE DONT EAT OR DRINK FROM ANYWHERE OTHER THAN THE SHIP OR YOUR HOTELS OR REPUTABLE RESTAURANTS.- YOU WILL BE ILL TRUST ME. !
