MS SERENITY – NEW ADDITION TO THE RIVER CRUISE LINE

The Leicester shire based company The River Cruise Line   are introducing a new addition to their fleet and she is the MS SERENITY. She is a 4* and will be operating  along the waterways of Europe. The ship has a very good standard and offers a relaxed atmosphere and is  very friendly.

She will be offering various sailings but here are a couple..

SWITZERLAND & THE RHINE CRUISE

RHINE CRUISE TO SWITZERLAND

It holds 190 people and has 3 different decks which are accessible by a lift which is something missing on their other ships in the river cruise line company, something people with walking difficulties will welcome i’m sure.

GENERAL INFORMATION.

• 1 Restaurant ( panorama Restaurant on the middle deck)
• 1 Bar (Lido Bar) on the rear deck.

CABIN INFORMATION.

The cabins are nicely furnished and cabins which are on Panorama deck all have a French Balcony.

On middle deck cabins have sliding windows  and on the lower deck have two small viewing windows.

All cabins have two fold able beds that are put in the “day” position during the day and are made up to the “night” position each evening, so giving lots of needed space during the day to walk around the cabin.

The ship has a lift that allows access to every deck on the ship.

Day  1  UK  –  Basel

We travel to Basel where we join our ship. We then set sail and cruise towards Breisach for an overnight stay.

Day  2  Breisach  –  Strasbourg

Enjoy a free morning exploring the city of Breisach, home to Europe’s largest producing wine cellar and the beautiful St Stephansmünster Cathedral. Alternatively you can join our optional excursion to visit the charming city of Colmar. The old town is the main attraction which has been beautifully preserved since the Middle Ages with churches and half-timbered houses adorned with ornate features. In the afternoon you can relax on board our ship as we cruise to Strasbourg for an overnight stop.

Day  3  Strasbourg

Strasbourg is the capital of France’s Alsace region. This picturesque city was the first in the country to be recognised as a UNESCO World heritage site and is filled with architectural and historical treasures. Spend the morning exploring at leisure or join our optional canal cruise along the waterways which is a great way to see the city. We set sail in the afternoon and cruise towards Mainz, on the confluence of the Rhine and the Main.

Day  4  Mainz  –  Rüdesheim

This morning is free to explore Mainz at leisure or join our guided tour to ensure you see all the must see sights and discover the city’s rich history. We then cruise the short distance to Rüdesheim, an attractive town in the UNESCO World Heritage Rhine Valley. To really appreciate this beautiful region you can join our optional Rüdesheim Highlights excursion, which features a panoramic ride to the heights of the gorge by cable car.

Day  5  Rüdesheim

Enjoy a full day cruising as we set sail in the morning and pass the legendary Lorelei. We make our final stop in the mighty city of Cologne, which is filled with monuments and churches, along with the magnificent Gothic cathedral. Our included excursion is a great introduction to the city after which you can explore at leisure.

Day  6  Cologne  –  UK

We bid farewell to our Captain and crew and disembark for the return journey to the UK.
