Will I Get Seasick?

No is the simple answer to that !

Today’s ships have stabilizers – Large underwater FINS on each side of the hull- to counteract any rolling motion, and most cruises are in warm, calm waters. As a result, fewer than 3 percent of passengers become sea-sick. Yet its possible to develop some symptoms-anything from slight nausea to vomiting. Both old timer sailors and modern ones have their own remedies.

Get the sea breeze into your face this is the best one or suck on an orange or lemon !!

I WANT TO TELL YOU A STORY…………..

Ive sailed in all sorts of ships, Big & Small and hand on my heart can honestly say have never ever felt ill…UNLESS you count the time my husband & I went on a fishing trip in Cornwall in 1995.

OUR BOAT FOR THE MORNING;

THE ONLY THING WE CAUGHT;

Both of our children were small then & money was sparse  so every year we used to go to Cornwall, we love it there anyway the weather wasn’t being kind that particular year, so we asked the lads if they fancied a fishing trip (shark fishing)” yes the both screamed could we “?

So we trundled off to the harbour to see what was going and  picked out a nice little boat, we found one who took us 4 and another 2 chaps who had all the gear.

NEWQUAY HARBOUR;

Everyone was so excited to have the chance to see a shark, as soon as we started to get out of the harbour the sea started to turn a bit rough and our little boat was bobbing around on the sea like the toys in our bath, I looked at my eldest who was looking a bit worried, I asked him are you OK? he didn’t reply.

10 minutes later we were bombing along the wind was in our faces the rain was lashing down like nothing on earth and I thought it was great till I turned around and saw Joseph was green and hanging over the side.

JOSEPH BEING SICK;

OUR NEW FRIENDS LOOKED THE PART – WE DIDNT !

It was a half day trip so we were back on shore in the afternoon, to this day when ever  we brings up the conversation about out  excursion  we all laugh about it needless to say we didn’t catch any fish and did we see  a shark????  You must be joking we saw a seal though.
