Are You Pulling My Lego?!

Seems not!

I read that MSC Cruises have teamed up with the makers of probably the most popular toy EVER! – No not Peppa Pig……..LEGO to create a series of programmes and activities for both children and adults to participate in and enjoy during their holiday  on board.  These include play areas (that’s for the kids not the adults.) photo opportunities, and competitions, where the winner would receive a Junior Master Builder diploma!   Again – for the kids. (Don’t they just have ALL the fun?!)

There’s talk from the LEGO group’s Chief Executive Gianni Onorato that they are working on an MSC Cruise Ship toy.  That’s a great idea!  Keep the kiddies amused for hours and they can take home their own little masterpieces!  Although methinks that the dads will find building a ship much more fun than the kids!

I think it’s a stroke of genius to incorporate the hugely popular Lego bricks and toys with MSC Cruises, because both are recognised globally, and both are very popular with families!

The first ship to include the Lego Experience is the MSC Armonia, part of the Liricia Class in the MSC Fleet.  She is the first of the fleet to undergo the Renaissance Programme, a 2 year  €200m  operation to make the four Lirica class ships bigger, smarter, and even more beautiful than they are now.

She will begin service on the 19th of November leaving Genoa and visiting France, Spain & Gibraltar before finishing in Portugal.

Who doesn’t remember receiving a Lego set for either a birthday or Christmas present? The company has been with us since 1934 and has brought hours of fun to generations of kids, including me!  I’ve taken my children and grandchildren to Legoland, and had a fantastic day, quite apart from all the fantastic rides and attractions, we thoroughly enjoyed walking among the intricate models of  camels, fire breathing dragons, pirates, world landmarks, all built using around 55 million bricks!  Amazing.

And who hasn’t seen the Lego Movie?

Did you know?  Lego was invented by a Danish carpenter called Ole Kirk Christiansen,in Billund, Denmark in 1934.

I for one am looking forward to seeing this new innovation, how about you?
