MAYhem!

The month of May is always a special one for me, it’s my birthday month and it has two bank holidays so it’s great for planning little weekends away, or doing something exciting with friends or family.

This May is particularly significant to me because this year I turn 30 years old! I know I know you could mistake my youthful looks and boyish charisma for someone far younger! Indeed when people ask me how old I am, I usually say, about 25. I’ve always been a been scared of aging!

So last weekend was a big one for me, I used the bank holiday weekend to have a few chilled out days off. But they ended up being anything but!

I was challenged by friends to pull an all nighter the Saturday to watch the boxing – a sport that I love – which was shown live from Las Vegas, after having already watch the Manchester United match earlier that day.

So i took the bet and boy have I regretted it since!

It has literally taken me a week to get over the tiredness from my marathon 40 hours of sleep deprivation! It was brilliant but so difficult!

Then last night, as I was preparing to have a nice quiet night in front of the TV, my fiancee turns to me and says right, get dressed I’m taking you out for a birthday meal. Reluctantly I did as I was told and we went down to the local Indian, where to my astonishment about 20 of my friends were sat waiting with a big cheer for me as I walked in!

I was shocked!

I had not expected a surprise party at all. No idea how she managed to keep it from me!

Anyhow a few noisy curries later off we went down to my local, with helium balloons tied to my wrists and a gigantic 30 badge pinned to my chest, and after a few pints in there we mooched into town for more drinking and a bit of dance floor idiocy.

I had a fantastic night but naturally am feeling a little tired today!

But away from my self destructive social life, the cruise offers have been flying through my inbox like bats in a cave!

As most of my clients know I have been working in the cruise industry all of my adult life, so I have seen the month of May develop into a really exciting month for cruises!

Very much an emphasis on British cruise lines, with P&O pushing the Britannia and Oceana offers very hard – some absolute bargains to be had on these two ships. Meanwhile Fred Olsen now have 2016 on sale and are hammering out some brilliant offers.

Sticking with the British theme but moving to a US line, Royal Princess has had some brilliant offers on her summer program around the British Isles, but get in there quickly these are moving like hot cakes!

A lot of folks are also asking about summer family deals for this August. Well forget that you have to book these dates early, get yourself on Royal Caribbean for 2016 – they have brought the hugely popular Independence of the Seas back to her first home, Southampton, so you don’t even have to set foot in an airport to experience this wonderful ship.

Perhaps this year is the year you try a River Cruise?

Well I also this month have some crackers with the likes of APT and Viking, as well as many others. These River Cruises might seem like a lot at first glance, but can you put a price on an all inclusive experience such as this, a river cruise where you are truly immersed in the destination? I think not!

Hopefully this little snippet of info from me has got you thinking anyway? So whether you are after, this year, next year, river or ocean, I am here to help anytime you need!

Thanks for reading and as always, until next time…………….
