Cruise.co Christmas Comedy Capers!

So as you have probably seen if you read any other staff blogs, you will know that a large majority of us spend 3 nights aboard QM2.

But rather than burble on about the ship; which most cruisers will already identify with as one of the worlds most famous liners, with a sterling reputation and near unrivaled class for it’s size. No I decided instead to talk to you about what made this little cruise so good.

In short, it was Cruise.co

Cheeeeeeeeese!

This is going to sound like I am brown nosing to epic proportions, but genuinely what made this cruise was the company that surrounded me for the duration.

You see working from home you rarely get to meet your colleagues, so you never really get to know what they are like, but rest assured if you book with me or one of us at Cruise.co you will be booking with some of the nicest, trustworthy but more importantly, bonkers people in the travel industry!

Full of Christmas beer…..er I mean cheer…. with some beer….but mainly cheer. Beer.

We all live and work all over the UK, so you have this incredible mish-mash of accents, attitudes and animals!

Mr Toad Selfie!!! 4:30 am

We spent the first night getting to know each other, the lads pushing the banter boundaries, and the girls talking about their kids and dresses and whatever else women talk about!!

It was a great night, really fantastic to get to know the staff.

Being a bit of a lads lad, I instantly got along well all the boys, firstly by crushing them all at darts, and secondly by drinking them all under the table – or at least that’s how I remember it going down………….

But it was the second day and night that I enjoyed most, you might think that after a night on none other than pomegranate mojitos, one would struggle with a full day of listening to conference lectures and team building style games, and well, you’d be dead right. I spent the first hour struggling to stay conscious, but after a couple of ice waters and a bit of engagement, coupled with the most ridiculous game of ‘The Quest’ or something like that – which was a game laid on by our nutty account manager from Royal Caribbean, comparable only to Rugby Union and Greco Roman Wrestling, I soon found myself wide awake and sweating my backside off in a knitted Christmas jumper; a cruel joke played on us by the bosses!

What’s Left Of The Boss – Go Hard Or Go Home

Anyway I digress, the point I’m making is that everyone got involved and got on so exceptionally well, staff and management, that by the 3rd day one of my colleagues was actually able to get away with ‘rewarding’ the management with a somewhat questionably shaped chocolate lolly purchased from Bruges, our only stop. You can guess what they were shaped as, and if you can’t figure it out, just look down in the shower.

INSERT RUDE PIC HERE heehee

It was hilarious.

The third night was inevitably spend trying to iron out who the best region was in terms of personality, and between all the Gamboles, Pickled Eggs, Pies and Chip Muffin discussions, I think it’s safe to say that once again the North West is the place to be. I’m not sure how the office staff will take that but they know it to be true.

When you crack open the torso-sized bottle of red wine you know it’s going to be a great night

To summarize what I’ve already said, but on a more serious note, if you book with us at Cruise.co, you are going to be looked after, treated like a name not a number, and probably have a bit of a laugh along the way. I have met some fantastic people this weekend and I thought it only fair to mention how awesome we are as a bunch of people from the top to the bottom, everyone pulling in the right direction, and it’s this that makes us number one in my eyes.

Thanks for the Cruise.co management for treating us to such a smashing weekend and to Cunard for having us, and I think I speak for everyone when I say, bring on 2015!

Thanks for reading and as always, until next time…………..
