Christmas Cruising

So I know everyone loves Christmas and spending time with family and friends over the festive period. But how different would you feel by spending Christmas day on-board a luxury cruise? Most customers say they love to be away for Christmas and the New Year and to be able to experience their favourite style of holiday.

I’m no “Scrooge”, but honestly Christmas is all about spending time with my family and I personally enjoy cooking the Christmas dinner year after year (although I had this year off). However I am not sure how I would feel spending Christmas on-board a cruise.

Yes from previous experience I can say I enjoy the decor, the on-board food experience, the entertainmentthe grand gestures of afternoon tea and the ambience and wisdom of meeting new friends. I know Christmas cruising is an experience of its own, but I’m not sure if I would feel like it was Christmas at all.

Is it normal to feel this way having never cruised before over the Christmas period? Would it help having the family cruise with you. I know lots of customers that all like to cruise together over this time of year so maybe the feeling of doubt could be overcome?

I certainly do enjoy the mini cruises that you can book for the Christmas markets but that’s on a different scale as its the build up to Christmas and you enjoy the festivities of seeing parts of Europe and their way of Christmas.

We all love to cruise and all have our own aspects of what to look for in a cruise and itinerary. Maybe this feeling is because of my youth or its just because I wouldn’t like to cruise over Christmas. Maybe I need to trial it for myself. What are your thoughts?
