A Perfect Opportunity for a Spring Break

Breaking news this morning from P&O, especially if you fancy a late spring break.

Ventura has been positioned in the Mediterranean for summer 2014 and there are some brilliant bargains to be had on lovely itineraries.

This sailing is 7 nights from Genoa to Venice and prices start at just £ 599pp for inside cabin with a free upgrade to a balcony. Flights from London, Birmingham or Manchester are included as are transfers.

Not only is this a brilliant price it is also a lovely cruise with some great ports of call.

Corfu is an island I have visited many times, although not for the last few years.

The name Corfu refers to both the island and to its main town. Kerkyra is its Greek name and it is an island of pretty villages, with  blue and white houses, beautiful sandy and excellent nightlife, it is probably the most popular of the  Ionian islands. Corfu Town itself has a very British feel to it as it has a cricket pitch in its main square. The cafes of the Liston were built by the French in the same style as those in Rue de Rivoli, Paris. It is the he place to ‘people watch’ although cricket no longer takes place due to the busy traffic of the main square.

The island is also the birthplace of Prince Philip, born at the Palace of Mon Repos on 10th  June 1921. The palace is a lovely building set in beautiful English style gardens.

Apart from its history the island has gorgeous beaches, both to the north and south of the island. One of my favourite is Elly Beach on the north west coast, in the village of Liapades, its crystal clear shallow waters make it the perfect place to while away and afternoon.

Kotor, in Montenegro, is also on the itinerary. This is a place I have never been to but, I would love to go. It is situated on a beautiful bay on the coast of Montenegro, it is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Old Town is protected by walls and is also unique for several reasons. It is located on the only natural fjord of its kind in the world and was also built like a maze of tiny streets, for  protective purposes.  It is very easy to get lost here so make sure you get a good map before setting off on you exploration of the city.

There will of course be lots of excursion available for the ship to make the most of your time in this beautiful place.

Ventura also visits Rome, Corsica and Venice, making this even more of a bargain,  but hurry as availability will not be there for ever , call today so we can get you the best deal available for a spring cruise this year.
