Major Milestones Marked For Two New MSC Ships!

Key milestones for not one, but two brand-new MSC Cruises ships were celebrated at an event in Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in France this week.

The event included a traditional maritime Coin Ceremony for MSC World America, whereby commemorative coins were placed within the ship’s keel, and the official delivery of environmentally-conscious MSC Euribia to MSC Cruises.

MSC World America’s coin ceremony was marked by the ship’s two godmothers, MSC Cruises’ Silvia Turbia and Chantiers de l’Atlantique’s Séverine Blandin, as a symbol of good fortune for the ship’s life on the sea. The Liquified Natural Gas (LNG)-powered MSC World America will be setting sail for the first time in April 2025, and, when launched, will be the largest vessel in North America for MSC Cruises.

The second in MSC Cruises’ World Class, MSC World America will be home to more than 420,000 sqft of public space, an all-new outdoor space named The Harbor, which will feature a water park and spacious areas for families, plus many cutting-edge bars, lounges, spaces, accommodations, and entertainment venues.

After her grand debut, MSC World America will sail on seven-night voyages around the Caribbean during her first season, with port calls at MSC-owned Ocean Cay Marine Reserve.

Our commitment to bringing our largest, most innovative and environmentally advanced ships to the North American market is stronger than ever, and all of us at MSC Cruises are looking forward to welcoming guests on board MSC World America.

The ship’s long list of new spaces and experiences will set a new standard for Caribbean cruising when she arrives in the U.S. in 2025.

All of MSC World America’s itineraries include Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, our beautiful island destination that highlights the natural beauty of The Bahamas and our focus on marine conservation. She will join our growing U.S. fleet amid our ongoing homeport expansion, which saw the recent addition of Port Canaveral and New York City with plans for Galveston on the horizon.

Together, these initiatives will allow our guests to experience MSC Cruises’ unique international flavor on more ships in more places, and we’re proud to have MSC World America leading the way.

Alongside MSC World America, MSC Euribia will also be powered by LNG and feature additional state-of-the-art environmental technologies, including advanced onboard wastewater treatment systems, waste management handling, energy efficiency measures as well innovative underwater radiated noise management systems to reduce the potential impact on the marine environment.

MSC Euribia is currently on a net zero greenhouse gas emissions voyage, sailing to Copenhagen for her Naming Ceremony on 8 June. The all-new ship is utilising a bio-LNG using a mass-balance system and other efficiency measures to show that net-zero cruising is possible today.

Alongside her green credentials, this Meraviglia-Pluss class ship will feature 21 bars and restaurants, extensive children’s facilities, LEGO play areas, Chicco baby club, a 945-seat theatre, five swimming pools, an MSC Aurea Spa, and a whopping 367-foot long promenade adorned with eateries and a mesmerising LED sky screen.

Following her sparkling naming ceremony, MSC Euribia will set off on a number of sensational seven-night itineraries sailing to the Norwegian Fjords.
