Lights, Camera, Queen Anne! Cunard Partners With British Film Institute For New Ship

Cunard has partnered with the British Film Institute to curate a programme of short films and blockbusters that will be exclusively screened onboard the brand-new sparkling ship, Queen Anne.

The renowned British line has released details of what exactly the scheme entails, in the run-up to the glittering debut of Queen Anne, which will be, when launched in 2024, the largest in the cruise line’s current fleet.

Captivating films will be shown on the outdoor screen in the all-new Pavilion onboard, a space designed by David Collins Studio that has been inspired by glasshouses. The multi-purpose space will have its own custom-designed glass dome roof that will retract in sunny climbs, pool and chic seating areas.

In total, 10 films will be shown every month on the LED screen in the Pavilion, and be available to watch in staterooms too!

“We are absolutely thrilled to be partnering with the British Film Institute, with our shared dedication to providing immersive experiences aligning perfectly. We’re hugely proud of our long-standing affiliation with the silver screen, with some of Hollywood’s biggest names having sailed in style with Cunard – from Charlie Chaplin to Meryl Streep.

As the first cruise line to host an on board film premiere with the launch of The Greatest Showman on Queen Mary 2 in 2017, we are incredibly passionate about the power of timeless storytelling. We have dedicated spaces for film enthusiasts across the fleet, and our new ship Queen Anne will boast even more big screen experiences for guests. Together with the BFI, we’ll strive to create unparalleled and unforgettable moments for film lovers.”

Katie McAlister, President of Cunard

The Pavilion is just one of several new, decadent spaces onboard Queen Anne where guests can kick back and relax in the epitome of refined elegance. Queen Anne will also be home to picture-perfect, modern accommodations, including Princess Grill and Queens Grill suites, glamorous dining rooms, a luxurious Grand Lobby, and a tranquil Mareel Wellness & Beauty Centre, featuring an opulent spa and Wellness Studio, which will be located at the very top of the ship.

Classic Cunard favourite venues, such as the Golden Lion Pub and Britannia Club restaurant will also be available onboard too.
