Oceana is smaller but just as impressive!

My inlaws have just completed a 14-night cruise on P&O’s Oceana and this was their experience:

An early start at Gatwick began our perfect Oceana cruise from Malta, visiting several Greek islands and taking in ports in Corsica and Sardinia.

The P&O package,  booked for us by Warwick of Cruise.co.uk,  was about, to begin with, the charter flight from Gatwick to Valetta in Malta which was to be our first visit to this beautiful and very British Country, revisiting Rome and Athens in the spring which meant reasonable temperatures and this made the excursions very comfortable.

We met the ship in Valetta after a 21/2 hour flight and were met by the super-efficient P& O staff who directed us to the busses. Flights were arriving from Manchester, Glasgow and Luton and were all to be delivered to the check-in procedure for the ship and be given our boarding cards.
This was our first experience of the “smaller” P&O ships as we knew the larger Ventura and Azura ships and thought that perhaps the Oceana would be a lesser experience due to her capacity and possibly reduced amenities.

This thought, however, was soon dispelled as the welcome on board was very warm and the cabins were ready for us at 1 PM so we could deposit our bags and clean up and begin to explore the ship. Oceana is smaller but just as impressive and what we found wonderful was that there were always seats in the bars, coffee shops and lounges. The Plaza buffet restaurant was also easily navigated and we didn’t have to share a table and so enjoyed the varied buffet from this lovely venue with a view of the front of the ship.

A well-stocked library with semi-finished jigsaws in progress was a tranquil space and the shows in the Footlights Theatre were amazing. The Headliners shows were word and foot perfect, probably the best team we have seen. We were also privileged to be at the premiere of the new Magic come dance show created by Stephen Mulhern called “ Astonishing” which was outstanding.
As usual, the service levels were excellent, the ship was spotless and the organization of the excursions ran like clockwork, so all in all a lovely 2 weeks holiday.

So if you would like to experience something similar why not give me a call and I will make some waves for you!
