NCL deserving of an Encore

And boy did they produce one, The amazing brand new Norwegian Encore far exceeded all expectations.

I was lucky enough last week to board the brand new NCL Encore from Bremerhaven for its pre-inaugural voyage to Southampton where it would sail over to America for its Caribbean Season.

I had never sailed NCL before and was a little excited at the prospect to see what would be offered. I think the question – what didnt it offer would be easier to answer since it had just about as many bars, restaurants and entertainment venues as my home town, we are talking over 29.

Absolutely phenomenal, so of course we can start with the basics, pool deck, gym, spa, casino, theatre, main dining and buffet.

But here come the highlights:

Galaxy Pavilion, a virtual reality world with some fantastic fun simulations. There were formula one race car experiences, roller coaster rides, mine shafts, scaffold walking in New York, hand gliding and lots more I didnt get chance to try.

Then there is the speedway, a go kart track on the top deck, this was great fun.

The laser tag, which we didnt get chance to try since it was outside and it was raining so slippery deck.

The aqua park, which had some great water slides, there are also video arcades, outdoor movie screen, comedy club, and of course plenty of areas to keep the kids entertained with all the childrens clubs.

The shows, where do I begin with these, outstanding, best shows Ive seen at sea, first night was Choir of Man, sort of like a local pub band with a pub set singing guitar and piano based easy listening folk songs, – amazing, then came Kinky Boots, the cast in this were outstanding also. I’ve never chosen a cruise ship based on its theatre shows, but this brings them to another level.

Encore also is equipped with the Haven, the private suite retreat with private pool deck, lounge and restaurant.
