School holidays so far

Being a full time working mum is tricky during the summer holidays!

This year is my 1st year with my daughter has been at school and 6 weeks off seems a very long time!

So far we are doing really well – 2 weeks into the holidays and it has been busy.

She has spent a full with Grandma. Been swimming and to the park.

We had Ella’s cousins with us on 1 day – we spent the day in the park and then lunch in the pub followed by glitter tattoos and nails painted!

We have an amazing trip in the middle of the holidays to look forward to.

On 9th August we fly to Fort Lauderdale. It will be a long flight with a 5-year-old and a grumpy husband! We fly from Manchester with American airlines via Philadelphia. I am prepared with neck pillows, pens and paper, DVD player with headphones! Have i forgotten anything? Maybe some snacks!

We arrive into Fort Lauderdale approx 6 pm and are booked into the B Ocean hotel for 3 nights. We are planning 2 lazy days on the beach, shopping and a little sightseeing

After our stay, we will board the Allure of the seas – an Oasis class Royal Caribbean ship! She is massive! Over 5000 passengers will be on-board with us.

I don’t think my hubby and daughter are prepared for this ha!

We cruise to Nassau in the Bahamas – I think we will visit the beach and maybe take a tour of the town.

Next is Cozumel in Mexico where we are yet to decide what to do! Maybe a jeep safari?

we cruise to Roatan in Honduras next and we plan to visit Gumbalimba Park for a couple of hours where animals are free and you can interact with the monkeys, iguanas and birds.

Our final stop in Costa Maya in Mexico and we are doing a trip to the Mayan Ruins.

I must say, I am most excited about the cruise and experiencing all the facilities on-board

I have booked us some shows. Blue Planet show and headlines showtime. I am sure we will squeeze in some more.

We have a free deluxe drinks package and Ella has a soft drink package.

We also have $100 onboard credit which we are going to spend in Chops grill restaurant and treat ourselves to a lovely steak!  

When we return we will be going to Southport for the day – we go every year on the train with grandma and grandad!

On 1st September Ella is 6 so we will be celebrating with all her friends at a play centre and then the parents will enjoy a few drinks back at our house!

Then back at school on 4th September!
