Post Brexit Cruising

Fred Olsen are the latest cruise line to issue a Brexit guarantee which will hopefully put their customers minds at rest.

There has been a lot of uncertainty surrounding this with lots of people unsure of the requirements when we finally leave the EU. P&O were the first to reassure with a Brexit promise that any impact on their guests holiday will be managed by them. Fred Olsen have issued a similar promise but they have gone a step further by saying they are so confident that your holiday plans will not change when we leave the EU that if they do they will give you a full refund and a free cruise as compensation!!

They also guarantee the following once your deposit has been paid:

  • No supplement or surcharge guarantee
  • All on board prices in sterling
  • Fred Olsen’s enjoyment promise (if you decide within 48 hours of starting your cruise that it is not for you they will arrange to return you home and refund the cost of your holiday)
  • ABTA & ATOL protection

The UK government have also issued advice to say that in the event of a no deal Brexit cruise operations will continue as normal.
Passengers embarking at a UK port will be protected by the EU regulation on maritime rights.

Hopefully this will start to put peoples minds at rest so they can start planning their holidays and have something to look forward to.

Just be sure that your passports have at least 6 months validity beyond the return date and that you have travel insurance in place which has always been a requirement anyway.
