Crystal, clear why so many awards.

On Monday I was fortunate to spend a day on board the beautiful Crystal Serenity.

Owned by the award-winning 6* Crystal Cruises who have been voted World’s Best more than any other resort, hotel or cruise line, Serenity was launched in 2003. She is a medium sized ship at just under 70,000 tons but takes less than half the average numbers of passengers for that size, at less than 980, and has a crew to guest ratio of 1:1.6 offering impeccable service.

All staterooms have an ocean view and include 24 hour room service and complimentary Wi-Fi. From the beginning of your holiday, you are welcomed on board to check-in with a glass of champagne. Drinks are included throughout the ship with fine wines, premium spirits, soft drinks and speciality coffees.

To avoid any awkwardness, gratuities also complimentary.

Dining is open-seating with up to nine dining venues. Speciality dining is free for one evening in Umi Uma which celebrates the cuisine of Nobu Matsuhisa and once in the Italian restaurant Prego during your cruise and additional reservations can be made at a small charge of around $30 per person.

In most ports a shuttle service is provided at no extra charge.

Entertainment on board ranges from Broadway -style shows to recently released films being shown in the cinema. There is a Creative Learning Institute where you can take home a new skill such as keyboard lessons or a foreign language.

If you have time after all this, there is a large gym with various classes such as Pilates all included, a pool, tennis court or for the less energetic, a spa.

The sense of space on board and the quality of the staterooms, food and service are exceptional. Compared to many top resorts worldwide, the value is better and of course, lets not forget the amazing destinations you can visit.
