Is this the way to go?

Another cruise line has launched an All Inclusive offering on their Caribbean Itineraries. If you book a Princess Cruise to the Caribbean from 2nd – 31st July 2019 – as well as the delectable food, you can look forward to enjoying delightful drinks throughout your cruise with the added convenience of knowing everything has been taken care of. So all you have to do is lay back and enjoy the journey as Princess take you on what is sure to be your most incredible Caribbean adventure yet.

What exactly do you receive with a drinks package? Is it worth it for you?

What is Included

  • All beer, spirits, wine by the glass and cocktails $12.00 USD and under as listed on our menu(s)
  • All bottled water (500ml only), fountain sodas, fresh juices (if available), specialty coffees and teas, Frappés at Coffee & Cones, milk shakes (if available) and Red Bull energy drinks.
  • A 25% discount on the following excluded items: all bottles of wine, one liter bottles of water, canned soda and bottled juices.
  • The package may be used on our private islands, all food and beverage venues, and other areas such as the theater or public spaces that offer beverage service.
  • If dining at a specialty dining venue, a large bottle of water (one liter) of still or sparkling is covered by the package.

With a beer costing around $7 and a Glass of Wine or a Cocktail $10-$12, on american lines, taking advantage of the Free Drinks Packages being offered at the moment can be so beneficial if you where to drink more than 3-4 a day but for people that don’t drink alcohol they often find themselves paying an inflated price for there cruise.

With this offer being launched and more and more cruise lines offering drinks as a benefit it has got me thinking – is a drinks package or an All Inclusive offering a deal breaker for you? Should this be something you decide to have or not or would you want it included as standard?

  1. Without doubt I believe that cruise lines who have so called scratched gratuities and tips from cruises include them in the price of the cruise, which on some cruises have ballooned . I have always had the same concern whilst cruising, which is, PAY ALL STAFF A DECENT WAGE, and NOT rely on the passengers to make it up in tips. The crew work soooo hard making our cruise enjoyable and relaxing. On our recent cruise on Celebrity we went to reception and cancelled our automatic gratuities and tips, the first time we had done this, ever, this was because it was going to cost us over $203 for a weeks cruise. when we add the recommended gratuity of $90 for a two day journey on the Rocky Mountaineer things get very expensive. But that is my humble opinion.
