Today (3rd September) sees the launch of P&O and more importantly their new ship Iona. The embargo has now been lifted and so we can start to talk and take pre-registration bookings for Summer 2020 – (which does seem such a long way off)
So Iona the new ship for P&O will sail on its maiden voyage on the 13th May 2020 for 9 nights sailing to the Norwegian Fjords and calling into Stavanger, Olden, Geiranger and Bergen. For the rest of the Summer season (with the last departure being the 19th September 2020) she will be continuing to sailing the Norwegian Fjords on 7-night itineraries. Will P&O be able to fill a ship of this size every week for 5 months to the Fjords every week? – I am not so sure, but the Fjords is a great destination for new cruisers and one of my favourite itineraries. I wonder whilst in Geiranger for a ship this size if P&O will pay to have the airbridge to link the ship to the shore as it could take a while to get everyone ashore by the tenders their other ships use?
If you have travelled with P&O before then you will get a 10% discount, and new to P&O you will receive a 5% discount, before anything from us here at cruise.co.uk. P&O is offering a reduced deposit to 5% (its normally 15%) however we are offering just a £1pp deposit for bookings (terms and conditions apply)
An overview of what the other ships are doing in Summer 2020: Oceana will be continuing with her Fly cruise programme with 7-night cruises that can be booked as 7 or 14-night durations from Malta, Britannia is sailing the Mediterranean on 14-night durations from May to September. Azura is doing alternate cruises around the Mediterranean then the Baltic from May to September. Ventura is a mix of cruises from short breaks for 2nights, and also 7 and 12-night cruises. Aurora and Arcadia are a mixture of adult only cruises.
