For the 10th anniversary of their Cover Stars competition, Travel Weekly will be featuring 12 lucky travel agents throughout 2020, giving them the ultimate Florida fairytale experience by flying them out to Walt Disney World Resort to attend an exclusive event, with Travel weekly Cover Stars photo shoots taking place across Walt Disney World Resort and aboard Disney Cruiseline.
This opportunity would be a dream come true for me as a Florida-specialist & huge Disney-fan, and of course I would love the chance to experience Disney Cruise Line first-hand and the privilege of featuring in Travel Weekly as a Cover Star! Why I want to be a 2019 Travel Weekly Cover Star
My passion for travel is rivaled only by my love for Disney! Unfortunately our family trip to Walt Disney World scheduled to take place in December 2017 was postponed due to our 8yr old daughter suffering a childhood ischemic stroke and undergoing emergency brain surgery on December 4th 2017. Now with Kayla finally recovered and cleared to fly long haul, we are hopeful to travel to Walt Disney World in Florida in 2020/2021… and with the opening of Galaxy Edge, both hubby and our son Ryan, are even more excited for our long-awaited trip!
My passion for travel is rivaled only by my love for Disney! Our daughter Kayla, has become somewhat of a local star, nicknamed our Princess-Warrior for her beauty, strength & determination, and once we finally take our trip to WDW it will certainly be a fairytale come true…Personally I have not been able to visit WDW since Jan 2007, so this agent trip would be a fabulous opportunity to reacquaint myself first-hand with all that is new within WDW and Disney Cruise Line, and to help me in planning for our future trip as a family. In all honesty I have definite WDW withdrawal symptoms and a trip to ‘the happiest place on earth’ is the only true cure!
I have of course ensured that I have kept myself up to date with all that is new through research & training and am obsessive when it comes to assuring my knowledge of the WDW parks and beyond… I am the Disney-geek and my family nickname me Mary Poppins due to my planning to a T, my ‘spit-spot come along everyone’ attitude & magical adventures when it comes to our trips.
Living in the UK, we have been lucky enough to also visit Disneyland Paris on a few occasions to quench our Disney-thirst somewhat, and as an agent I have worked as a Florida specialist for American Sky, as well as now being part of the Cruise.co.uk Florida Specialist Team. I have a genuine love for Walt Disney World, with memories from my own childhood visits with my parents & grandparents, as well as a pure joy for offering advice and inside tips when booking WDW holidays for my clients.
I long to take my own children to experience the magic that was ‘all started by a mouse’, and would thoroughly welcome the opportunity to visit WDW as an agent to add some behind-the-travel-scenes experience to my repertoire. I have a successful blog and Facebook page ‘Katrina And The Waves’, and would love the chance to feature articles & vlogs on my experience to sprinkle some real Disney magic on my social media platforms.
To feature as a Cover Star in Travel Weekly Magazine for 2020 and to visit WDW as an agent would truly be a dream come true.
