I am off again, MSC here I come ! Birthday Boy 50 years Young!

So where am I off to this time you might ask? Well, this time I’m going to be heading towards the Fjords again. I absolutely love the Fjords, but this time it is for a very special occasion it’s my husband’s 50th birthday.  We are sailing on MSC this time, which will be new for my husband because he’s never done MSC before. I have been on MSC before so I know exactly what to expect and I’m really looking forward to it. My friends and cruising buddy’s Carole and Michael are joining us to celebrate with us and we have 2 fantastic balcony cabins right on the back of the ship. I have organized a birthday cake and we have champagne and cholate covered strawberries on arrival in the cabin.

We sail out of Southampton on  Monday the 9th. As we are heading straight for le Halve this gives me an opportunity for me to catch up with my brother who lives in France and only about two hours drive from the port so he’s going to come and pick us up. He is taking us to a little town just close to Le Halve  (Honfleur) for some lunch which will be lovely.

This was last time we were in Alesund and Bergen, Hoping for better warmer weather this time.

We then head straight up to the Fjords and we’ve got Bergen, Olden, Stavanger, and Alesund.

As you will know from my previous blogs, I have been to 3 of those ports before.  I do love a trolley train and as the one in Alesund is such good value, I expect to be on that again. Bergan has the Venicular and Stravanger has the hop on hop off buses so that’s those ports sorted. but Olden is all new to me. I believe there is a tour that takes in the glaciers so I am hoping to get booked on that one. They also have the “Troll Cars”, which transport visitors along the Olden Valley. These two-wheeled horse-drawn carts have been in operation for more than 100 years, so I might try these out too. I am told there is a botanical Gardens but it is 23 miles from Olden, so might have to save that for another time. 

Due to my operation, we are booked into the thermal suite whilst on board to help my shoulder recover better. I do hope the weather lasts so I can get some swimming done too. Although Magnifica does have an indoor pool.
