My Far East Christmas & New Year Adventure!

A Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year to all my lovely passengers, who have trusted me with arranging your cruises this year!  Thank you for your support and loyalty, which I am most grateful for! I hope you have a fantastic memorable festive season, spent with your loved ones!

As for me,  I shall be on board the Marella Discovery sailing around Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam & Singapore!                                  I have sailed on the Discovery in March to the Caribbean, and loved the ship, and when I saw this itinerary, jumped at the chance to book!

This trip has many ‘firsts’ for us.

  • First time we have cruised over the Christmas and New Year.
  • First time visits to all the ports of call on this Enchanting Far East Itinerary:  Langkawi, Penang, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Koh Samui,       Bangkok, Sihanoukville, Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam,  then to Malacca, and finally back to Langkawi.
  • First time we have spent 14 nights on a cruise ship!

I’m hoping Marella pull out all the stops on Christmas Day and have let Santa know where I’ll be! A group of us are meeting up at lunchtime on board with our Christmas jumpers and hats for a photo-call (I’ll be sure to post them on my Facebook page!) Some passengers are bringing decorations and fairy lights to decorate their cabins!  A step too far for me I’m afraid.  I’d rather be up on deck where all the action is!

New Year promises to be something special – Fireworks! Gala Dinner! Dressed To Impress! all the things that make New Year so special wherever we find ourselves! #note to self:  Learn the words to Auld Lang Syne!

We’ve only booked 4 tours so far.

A group of us are visiting the worlds steepest cable car and Skybridge in Langkawi Malaysia!  The Gondola will take us high up into the Machinchang Mountain where we will be able to view the beautiful skyline of Malacca, before travelling back down to base station.

Penang where we’ve arranged to visit the Pattaya Elephant Sanctuary, which we are so excited about!  This is  not a tourist attraction where people ride the elephants, which I am very much against. This sanctuary looks after all the elephants in a sustainable and ethical way.  Visitors are able to: Walk with, feed, shower and photograph  them and learn how to make herbal supplements for elephants including how to turn their poo into paper!

Batu Caves in Kuala Lumpur & Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam where we plan to visit the infamous Cu Chi Tunnels!

I’ll keep you posted with photos and the odd video of my adventures

So whatever your plans are, I send you warmest SEASONS GREETINGS, and look forward to speaking to you all in 2019!
