People considering a river cruise with European Waterways next year can now begin planning their trip following the launch of the company's 2011 brochure.

The publication provides details of the operator's 21 luxury hotel barges, which will be sailing along canals and rivers in France, Italy, Scotland, England, Ireland, Holland, Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg.

European Waterways recently expanded its fleet with three new vessels, including La Bella Vita, a 20-passenger barge that will cruise from Venice to the historic city of Mantua, taking passengers along the river Po and the Bianco canal.

The six-passenger Fleur de Lys and eight-passenger Amaryllis have also been introduced and will operate sailings in the Burgundy region of France.

Cruises last six nights and include meals, selected regional wines, daily excursions, local transfers and the use of barge facilities, such as bicycles and spa pools.

Fares start from £2,090 per person, while whole boat charters are available from £15,000.
