Tips Included

Last year P&O cruises announced they were to scrap tipping, and fro May 2019 there will be no more tips added to your onboard account which was fantastic news from the UK cruisers as tipping is always such a taboo subject, most British customers dont like the idea of being told how much they have to pay and being lumbered with a tip amount added to there bill at the end of the cruise.

Recently MSC have announced that booking from the end of June will also now include tips or as they call it ‘service charge’.

You can also find tips are included with Marella cruises too.

Personally I prefer to pay my own amount for tips as you always find certain members of staff that you get friendly with maybe they remember your name or what your favourite tipple is and then theirs your cabin steward who always seem to go the extra mile. But of course sometimes it can be the opposite maybe you haven’t felt you received good service or experienced a problem and feel you should have to pay the set tipping amount which if im honest can really add up on some of the cruise liners especially if maybe your a family travelling on a 2 weeks Mediterranean cruise with the likes of Royal Caribbean you can expect to pay £00s in tips!

For me personally having tips already included in the cruise fare is the way forward, meaning there are no nasty surprises on your bill at the end of your cruise or no embarrassing trips to guest relations asking too have them removed!
