The Mardi Gras Is Coming To Town!

In the form of Carnival Cruise Lines amazing new ship launching in 2020 that is!

Carnival have recently released information about he newest ship to enter there ever growing fleet, due to set sail in 2020 the Mardi Gras is set to be the biggest and best ship in the fleet to date!

Mardi gras will be approx 180,000 tonnes and at maximum capacity she will hold 6,500 guests along with 2000 crew members.

What I love personally is the reasoning behind the name, back in 1972 Carnival launched there first ever ship the Mardi Gras which changed the world of cruising creating an informal fun cruise experience and now Carnival want to pay homage to the ship that made Carnival who they are today and name there newest ship the Mardi Gras also.

Currently under construction in Finland the Mardi Gras will have 6 distinct zones onboard named Grand Central, French Quarter, Summer Landing, La Piazza, Lido and The Ultimate Playground along with an array of food and beverage spots in all of the districts. My favourite has to be the ultimate playground where you will find the roller coaster at sea named Bolt, how amazing does that sound!

One of the biggest features is that she will be the first cruise ship based around North America to be powered by liquefied natural gas.

I personally love Carnivals newest ships since sailing onboard the Vista and would love to experience the new Mardi Gras too!
