Ladies who lunch

I was recently invited to attend a ship visit onboard the stunning Oceania Insignia.

She was in my local port of Liverpool for the day as part of her epic 161 night World Cruise. She left San Pedro Port in Los Angeles back at the end of January and wasn’t due to arrive into Miami until mid July. What a journey eh?

She is an R Class of ship which several Luxury Cruise Lines have in their fleet including my favourite Azamara. Launching only 8 vessels in this class during the late ninety’s early twenties Carrying just shy of 700 Passengers, Insignia has also just undergone a multi million dollar Regatta Class revitalization.

Almost every part of the ship has been updated including all the dark wood paneling I remember from Azamara. It is now bright and fresh and has a more modern theme.

The outdoor space is very plush and has lovely sunbathing areas. A really good sized pool considering the size of the ship. It didn’t feel small.

Myself and two colleagues had been invited along for Lunch and a guided tour of the Ship.

Lunch was in their Grand Dining room and served on Versace Crockery. It certainly didn’t disappoint!

We had a lovely look around the ship which didn’t take too long. Unfortunately, we couldn’t get to see any of the Suites and Cabins as they were sailing at full capacity.

It was my second experience of Oceania Cruises and I have to say, they are a very pleasing. They are edging away from the mainstream market and nestling nicely into the luxury field. An Elegant Country retreat with modern twist I would call them.

Until next time!
