My day on MSC Magnifica…

Just recently i was lucky enough to go on a ship visit on MSC Magnifica at Newcastle Port of Tyne, she was doing a British Isles cruise so whilst docked in my local port it was an ideal opportunity to have a look around on board as I’ve not been on an MSC ship before.

We had a lovely presentation in one of the lounges to begin with showing some of the newer ships and giving us more information on what MSC are like. Then on from there we had a tour of the ship. Magnifica is a mid sized ship holding around 3200 passengers, so not as big as some other ships but quite a nice size i thought.

The decor is very much Italian, with a bright colour scheme throughout. She has five restaurants and twelve bars so plenty of places to eat and drink, we had lunch on board in the main dinning room and the food was very good. I also like the fact that they had an outdoor pool plus an indoor one with retractable roof which is ideal for when the weather is not so good, along with four whirlpools, tennis, mini golf, gym, jogging track (ideal for the active clientele) as well as 10 pin bowling and billiards. For families there is also five different kid and teen clubs too so plenty to keep the children busy!

Next we had a look at some cabins, inside, ocean view and a balcony cabin, i was pleasantly surprised at the size, more than enough space in all of them, and also for those who are tea and coffee drinkers they had tea and coffee making facilities in the cabin, you can’t beat a nice cup of tea when you get up on a morning so this would please me!

Look out for my next blog to find out more!
