Regent Explorer Part 2

The first task was to go and see if we can book into one of the restaurants that evening and after a sweet talk to the nice lady at the restaurant reservation desk we managed to book the Prime 7, which is a true classic. Prime 7 is a contemporary interpretation of an America steakhouse. Beef is the undisputed star of the menu. I couldn’t resist the 10 oz Fillet Mignon which was superb, the best you can have! Beautiful art-deco surrounding and a relaxed atmosphere, excellent service and the wine kept pouring into our glasses. The next morning we got up for breakfast and that was on a self service basis at La Veranda, again very good choice and the best breakfast you can have on a cruise. No one is running around to find a table or stand in a queue to get served, plenty of space everywhere and very fast service. And off we go to La Spezia in Italy, we managed to get a last minute booking to one of the excursions that morning that takes you by boat around some islands. So went by tender and then met the tour leader and was escorted to the boat and waited for about half an hour for more passengers to arrive from the ships tenders, but then we change our minds and decided to get off the boat and just walk around the town instead. That’s a good thing when he excursions are included and you can make that decision without having to worry about costs. So off we went, very nice place, we walked for a couple of hours and had a coffee, and back to the ship for lunch. We went to Prime 7 again and had a very nice lunch, I had a beef burger which was the best I have had. Very good service and excellent choice for lunch. To be continued…Tamir6
