Is this the easiest cruise port ever?

We recently sailed out of New York onboard the brand new Carnival Horizon.

New York has 3 main cruise terminals, Brooklyn, Manhattan and Cape Liberty.

We sailed out of the Manhattan cruise terminal and what an absolute breeze it was.

We have of course sailed out of a fair few different cruise ports and I have to say each one could take a lesson from Manhattan.

As we entered, there was no long winding Que or post office ticket number to take, you simply spoke to a check in agent who had an I pad, from here she checked us in, of course we had completed the online check in process as one does with all cruise lines so this was no different. But she literally scanned our passports, our photos uploaded from our passports for the ship ID cards, and we were done. Straight through security and onboard and in no less than 20 minutes.

We stayed about 1.8 miles from the Cruise port at the Westin Grand Central, although with Manhattan traffic I would recommend leaving around 11am to make it to the port as it took us around 45 mins to get that 1.8m distance.

Cape Liberty and Brooklyn are slightly out from Manhattan but still have the same great experience with views of the Statue of Liberty, although Manhattan cruise terminal will sail right by as it will under the Verranzo bridge too which is a great experience.
