Jam packed Southampton

Royal Caribbean International 2020 program will go on sale early from the 20th November 2018 to debut the Itineraries launch of the Anthem of the Seas which will return in the Mediterranean sailing from Southampton. The Anthem of the Seas, part of the newest Quantum class, part of the latest innovations are the North Star capsules which raises the whole ship at 300ft from the sea and the bionic bartender but Royal Caribbean is promising more incredible features

But with so many ships sailing from Southampton how will the roads and the city be affected? Long queues are already a chore for cruise passengers and citizens trying to reach any place on time

On the big ship list sailing from Southampton, we already have

Independence of the Seas, P&O Iona , Celebrity Apex, Queen Mary 2 and many smaller ships through the same cruise lines and others

The City of Southampton is going to be even busier for sure. Hotels will be busy especially the day before sailing and some the day after the sailing and the roads off the motorway will have a massive impact. Ships cannot always wait beyond embarkation time as this could cost them thousands of Pounds, ultimately it is always the captain’s decision.

No one wants to miss their holiday, for this reason, It is strongly advisable to aim to get to the port earlier than planned, preferably before check-in starts. This is the same whether you travelling by car, plane or train. Long-delays will be guaranteed and extra time will ensure you get on board before embarkation is closed
