Three nights Pre cruise in the beautiful Fort Lauderdale

I have just returned from a lovely holiday combining 3 nights in Fort Lauderdale and a 7-night cruise on the Allure of the seas around the Caribbean.

The 3 nights in Fort Lauderdale was perfect! We flew American airline from Manchester to Fort Lauderdale via Philadelphia. Our flights were perfect, they were all on time, however, 2-hour connection in Philadelphia is very tight. We didn’t mess about. Headed straight for passport control but the queue was massive and we must have waited over an hour. We then had to claim our luggage and continue to the next departure gate. We only made it with minutes to spare!

Once we arrived into Fort Lauderdale it was plane sailing! The taxi cost $25 including the tip to take us to the B Ocean hotel which was located about 10 minutes from the airport.

The hotel was fantastic! The location was perfect. Right on the beach and about 10 minutes stroll to the main shops and another 10 minutes to the main restaurants. There were other restaurants closer to the hotel but we enjoyed the stroll. 2 restaurants on site, 2 pools and a private beach. The pool by the beach was very busy and the music was loud. It was like a party! We loved it! The other pool was much quieter.

The only thing about the hotel was some of the repairs were a bit shabby. We saw past this and enjoyed everything else. Ella was even given a turtle as a gift.

The weather was unbelievable! It was humid and the sun was very hot. Each day there was a big storm which lasted maybe 45 minutes and then cleared.

The first night we dined in the hotel – long day travelling we were ready for a snack and bed! burger and chips costing $10pp – I thought it was a bit pricey but it was lovely.

The 2nd night I met up with Haydn who also works for cruiseco. We met in LuLu’s bait shack. Had an amazing time. Food was great. I had a Turkey steak with chips again! It was happy hour so everything was ½ price! Lovely! $2 for a pint of larger!

The 3rd night we went to an Italian restaurant. It was ok but I prefer quality over quantity and it was the most expensive meal we had. My pasta with chicken cost $17.

We really enjoyed our stay. I would have liked an extra night, however, we were really looking forward to our cruise!

Have you stayed in Fort Lauderdale before? Where did you stay?

What did you think?
