-£200 per person discount off the cruise fare (applicable to cruises of twelve nights or more in duration)
-This offer is valid on bookings made from Thursday 28th September 2017 until Tuesday 31st October 2017
P&O surprised myself and quite a few others with a recent announcement that they would be selling their small adult-only ship the Adonia to Azamara Club Cruises in March 2018.
This news is a shame for many reasons. Firstly many people had confirmed future bookings for the Adonia including clients of mine and now their cruises will not be able to go ahead. Secondly the Adonia was quite a unique part of the P&O fleet as although P&O have other adult-only ships like the Oriana and the Arcadia they are substantially larger.
P&O have previously disappointed fans of the Adonia when they announced that she would leave the fleet operating the project Fathom, it was good news to hear of her return to the fleet after a 14 month absence.
P&O have told people with future bookings that they will give them £100 per person towards an alternative future sailing on one of their other ships, otherwise their books will be cancelled with deposit refunded.
Of course some people may not want an alternative P&O cruise, fortunately Fred Olsen have stepped in with the following offer to people with cancelled Adonia sailings.
-£100 per person discount off the cruise fare (applicable to cruises of seven to eleven nights in duration)
-£200 per person discount off the cruise fare (applicable to cruises of twelve nights or more in duration)
-This offer is valid on bookings made from Thursday 28th September 2017 until Tuesday 31st October 2017
Fred Olsen may well be a good alternative as their fleet of traditional British ships are small in size like the Adonia.
Of course the good news is that Azamara will soon have a new ship to add to their fleet. The basic hardware of the Adonia is the same as the Azamara Journey and Quest so I am sure once Azamara have made their many refurbishments and changes she will fit right in and give Azamara passengers even more choice of sailings to choose from.
