Many people cruise quite regularly and the majority of cruise lines understand this and have been offering benefits to guests who either book their next cruise on-board or make a deposit to put towards a future booking.
Most of the major cruise lines have been running two options, either book a specific cruise on-board or put down a deposit amount for a unnamed future booking and have the on-board benefits applied to the future booking when it is made.
Many people when on-board know they will cruise with the same company again but aren’t ready at the time to commit to a specific future cruise, because of this the on-board future cruise deposits have been quite popular and something that many of my returning clients have taken advantage of.
Unfortunately P&O cruises have taken the decision to stop future cruise deposits being made from the 2nd July 2017 and instead will only be allowing on-board booking benefits to be added when booking a specific cruise whilst on-board.
P&O Cruises will allow guests a 2 week window from the time of booking to change to another cruise as long as it meets their criteria (same or higher value).
I think that it is a shame this has been stopped and I know many of my clients will be disappointed.
