How do you Sea day?

A couple of weeks ago I cruised on the P&O Ventura.  We went to Bruges on day one, Amsterdam on day 2 and then had a sea day before heading back to Southampton.  Being a bit of a destination cruiser I wasn’t so sure I’d enjoy a full day at sea.  I love the ships but was apprehensive about the level of activities I could expect to be on offer.  On receiving my Horizon daily planner which was delivered the evening before our sea day I realised that the bigger issue would be choosing how to spend my day with all the options available.  I could have filled my day many times over!

There was a whole range of sporting activities from fitness classes to cricket and table tennis on deck.  If you wanted to relax there were films available to view in the theatre.  There were dance classes, quizzes and game-shows throughout the day.  Lots of different sporting events to watch too!  So, I had my itinerary planned for the day, then I got up, had breakfast and went to sit on deck.  The sun was shining and the strawberry daiquiris looked very inviting and we were enjoying the views sailing out of Amsterdam!  So, my sea day plans changed and I had the most amazingly relaxing day sunbathing on deck, in the hot tubs, lunching and even fit in afternoon tea!

Take a look at our ship guides for some handy information on what each ship has to offer:

How do you like to spend your sea days?  Are they a welcome break from the days of sight-seeing and allow you a good chance to enjoy the ship and all it has to offer?  Or do you get itchy feet and dream of docking up somewhere new?
