Azamara…Who?

Have you heard of Azamara Club Cruises?

Azamara is a sister company of Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises but is quite different. The fleet of three ships, Journey, Quest and the new to fleet Pursuit each take less than 1000 passengers. Smaller ships can reach more ports than larger ones and Azamara is very much about the destinations and reaching the heart of these places. Shore excursion programmes are designed to immerse you into the country you are visiting. On almost every voyage, you are offered a complimentary “AzAmazing Evening” where you will be taken to a unique experience such as a private concert.

Life on board is relaxed in an up-market environment with fine cuisine. There are no formal nights on board with a resort casual dress code. Drinks are included in your fare as are gratuities, saving the embarrassment of who and what to tip and any bar bills. Shuttle buses where available are also included and there is even a free on board self-service laundry.

Millions of dollars are spend refurbishing the fleet with sumptuous bedding and flat screen televisions and wifi in each stateroom.

The name Azamara was inspired by a bright star named Acamar, mixed with a few parts of words from Romance languages such as az (blue, azure) and mar (mare or sea). Azamara Club Cruises was thought of as a star on the blue sea and she really is.
