Who came out on top?!

In 2016 I was lucky enough to experience two of the newest and biggest ships at that time within a few weeks of each other – Harmony of the Seas and Carnival Vista.

Royal Caribbean’s Harmony of the Seas was the biggest ship that had launched out of Southampton and is still the most talked about ship carrying a massive 6780 passengers…WOW that’s a lot of people in one place right?! This can be a worry for some people, but being on board you really didn’t feel like there was that many people on board, you didn’t queue for a drink, the buffet wasn’t rammed and there was always tables at dinner even in the My-time dinning room. The facilities on board are just amazing you would definatley not be bored from testing your nerve on the Ultimate Abyss to taking a stroll through Central Park to being transported to the balmy summer nights of Broadway’s hit musical, Grease – there is literally something for everyone.

Coming off this ship I was amazed by the pure size of the ship but pleasantly surprised that there was still the Royal Caribbean touches and feel that I was very fond off. The food as usual on a Royal Caribbean ship was just brilliant and the staff couldn’t do more for you. Equally I was excited to compare this ship to my next adventure on board Carnival Vista as I had never experienced a Carnival ship and to be honest in my head I knew already which ship I was going to prefer and what I was going to make of the Vista after hearing lots of things about the Carnival ships however I wanted to experience it for myself.

Carnival Vista is still Carnivals largest ship they have in their fleet and she carries 3934 passengers and has been voted Worlds Best New ship in 2016. Getting on board there was such a lovely feeling to the ship, I knew it was still a large ship but it felt homely, again no queuing for drinks or tables and the buffet wasn’t full of people at any time of the day. The facilities were brilliant, from the crazy Sky Ride to the on board water-park Waterworks to the Serenity Adult Only Retreat – again something for everyone. I could see instantly why this ship was built for the Caribbean as all of the restaurants and most of the bars flow outside which I thought was a brilliant touch as you can dine inside or out and enjoy the beautiful weather.

Coming off this ship everything I thought the ship was going to be, I was proved it wasn’t. If I am honest I thought it was going to be loud, in your face, bright decor, crazy music and performances during dinner and that I was going to find it all a bit much. WOW was I proved wrong – the decor was so nice, yes there was singing and music during dinner but it was brilliant, those are some talented waiters and waitresses! The entertainment was brilliant and the food was AMAZING!

I would go on both of these ships again as I loved both trips so much…..but can you tell which ship just slightly tipped it for me?
