No More Gratuities …For P&O Cruise Line

Breaking news this week is that P&O Cruise Line are no longer going to be adding the gratuities to your cruise from May 2019.  This is great news for some passengers  however does this mean your cruise cost will go up in price to compensate this? or is the level of service going to change whilst you are on your cruise?  I really hope not.

Gratuities are always a hot topic, some people love to have them pre paid and taken care of and other passengers prefer to pay the staff for service received and pay them directly on board.

P&O have advised that from May 2019 cruise number A911, B912, E911/A, J903, N910, R907 and X907 and all thereafter the daily service charge (gratuities)  will  be removed.  For all passengers travelling up until  May 2019 the discretionary gratuity of £7 per person per day over 12 years of age will still continue to be applied to your on board accounts..

Is this a good move for P&O Cruises?  I wonder if other cruise lines will follow in there footsteps ?

Let me know you thoughts?

Till next time
