I Didn’t Like Independence…

I LOVED IT!!!

This year was my 1st year of school holidays since my daughter started school last year

I booked Independence of the Seas for 6 nights in August but as everyone that I had spoken to since the refit had given negative reviews saying that as new cabins had been added there were too many passengers on board so I was concerned

I had mixed expectations on the journey to Southampton, I was expecting the ship to busy – it was August after all, and knew there would be a lot of families and children on board

We had the most amazing check in – from car park to ship in less than 30 minutes – I was by the pool with a Pina Colada in my hand by 1030am!

By 3pm our cabin was ready, I booked a balcony on deck 7 at the back and the balcony was massive!

I have to be honest, it was a bit like a ‘Busmans Holiday’ and I was always looking at things from a Travel Agents point of view and despite concerns I had the cruise was BRILLIANT

What I liked:

Mytime dining was straightforward and easy to book a table for the next night if we wanted to

The staff were always smiling – it was a very happy ship

The drinks package was good although I drank far too many Pina Coladas

The cabin was excellent – the balcony was huge although we didn’t really use it it was great for drying pools towels!

The Ice Show was Brilliant, I loved the Grease Show and the Take That Tribute band were Amazing

Windjammer dining was good quality and we always got seats easily

The staff were Amazing with my daughter and she fell in love with the Washey Washey Man

The Cruise Director was very likeable and the Entertainment Staff made a good effort – even when the kids were getting involved in the quizzes

When the sun wasn’t shining my daughter tried the Bungee Trampoline

We also played Crazy Golf and my absolute favourite was Laser Tag

My daughter had a manicure AND a pedicure and the Spa staff were lovely

What I didn’t like –

I am trying to think of something but honestly I can’t except for the weather and there is no one I can complain to about that!!

When I filled in the questionnaire when I got home I genuinely gave 10 out of 10 except the internet package was expensive at $18 a day

Will I cruise with Royal Caribbean again – absolutely YES but 6 days just wasn’t long enough!!
