A Day spent with Marco Polo

Ok so i didn’t actually spend a day with Marco Polo Obviously, but i did spend the day on Cruise and Maritime Voyages Marco Polo. I live in a town call Greenock and the Marco Polo docks here a few times in the summer months so i got the pleasure of a tour and lunch on board.

I expected the ship to be really dated throughout, as i stepped onto the ship i wasn’t too impressed with the bright blue carpet and my first thoughts were that i was right about my instincts, but as i made my way to the Scott’s Bar for some refreshments my thoughts started to change.  Scotts Bar is an ideal spot for evening entertainment and late night dancing for the night owls! Located on Amundsen Deck, Scotts has direct access to the outside including a smoking area and a view of the pool deck below.

We then headed on a tour around the different cabins, yes again cabins a bit dated but plenty of space, even on the inside cabin.

We they checked out some of the Bars, Restaurants and other Facilities.

You can Enjoy the wonderful panoramic ocean views in the relaxing Palm Garden and at night head to the comfortable theater-style Marco Polo Lounge to enjoy some live entertainment. Why not meet up with some friends at the Captains Club.

To finish off we had dinner in the Waldorf Restaurant, I had the Springs Rolls to start, Beef Tornado for Main, the food was so delicious i could have ate it twice. here is some food pics to make your hungry.

Would i book and pay to cruise on a the Marco Polo myself Probably not but that’s just because it attracts an older clientele probably 60+ i would say, would i book my 60+ Family on this ship, Yes Definitely !! The Marco Polo has many repeat customers and just this morning i was speaking to a customer who had a fantastic time, she mentioned how the service was amazing and because this is a small ship the bar staff and waiters remember your name and favorite drink. She also mentioned how it is really easy to meet and speak to people on a daily basis.
