Iona has divided opinion within 2 hours of Launch

This morning proved to be my busiest ever launch. Always full of excitement here in travel as people start to ask you questions two/ three weeks prior to launch. it seems everyone wants to know all the details whilst it is top secret.

We released info at the start of September about the brand new Summer season on Iona in The Fjords for summer 2020 where she embarks on an initial 9 night sailing for her maiden voyage followed by a succession of 7 night sailings in the fjords.

She had been selling so well all day that at the time of writing there is no availability on her maiden voyage that’s right currently there is no availability on the 9 night sailing 14th May 2020.

I even booked myself a little trip on her to see what all the fuss is about and it was just over £600 per person for 7 nights. you would think you cant go wrong right.

Well I have spoken to some customers today who happen to be huge P&O fans and the problem for some of them is they have done so many P&O cruise in The Fjords that this is a part of the world have done a few too many times.

I think its something that you need to experience on Iona as she brings the majestic fjords indoors as there has never been a ship allowing more natural light in to common areas.

Where I think she may have really impressed here for her summer season is by doing 10-12 night itineraries taking people into the Northern region of The Norway such as Alta or Tromso for the best of the land of Midnight Sun. or better still they could have immersed people in Iceland I would have paid double for that.

I love what P&O stand for and their low cost business model but managing to build one of the worlds finest ships should be congratulated but I know its not just me that thinks it but a little more immersive imagination for longer cruising would have relay wet the appetite.

I would love to hear your thoughts on this?
