Travel Ban Trump’d!

Yikes isnt Donald Trump creating quite the stir in his first few months in office? Last Id read he was set on building walls to keep out ‘the Mexicans’, but this week his bill to ban citizens of majority Muslim countries from entering the US has been temporarily grounded by a Federal Judge just hours before it was due to come in to effect.

Imagine that? Being banned from entering certain countries just because of where you come from or your religion. So how does this court ruling affect our travel plans? Thank goodness it doesnt, we can still travel as freely we wish as there is plenty to be planning for the years ahead if this weeks cruise news is anything to go by and with the current exchange rates it is a great time to be securing the low priced deals.

P&O are set to launch their 2018/19 programme which will see the repositioning of a P&O favourite, Oceana into the Arabian Gulf where she will sail from Dubai for the winter season. P&O seem to be a little late to the party for this one as MSC, Royal Caribbean, Thomson and Celebrity have all dabbled in the United Arab Emirates over the last few years but never the less its an exciting new itinerary for die hard P&O followers. They have also launched Caribbean sailings from St Lucia meaning you can mix up the sailings 7/10/14 nights through to Barbados if you wish and they have also partnered with Virgin to offer a more flexible flight programme.

Royal Caribbean are launching their 2018/19 schedule this week also, lots of fab new itineraries and not to mention the exciting introduction of Symphony of the Seas – the worlds biggest ever liner snatching the top spot from her younger sister Harmony of the Seas by having an extra 28 staterooms and weighing 3000 tonnes more. They have also launched with her a new stateroom categorisation, supposedly making it easier to select the right stateroom. We shall see how that goes….

And of course, the most highly anticipated ship reveal of the last few years took place this week where we all got to take a sneaky peak at Celebrity’s revolutionary new ship Celebrity Edge and wow, doesn’t she look amazing? Edge will be sailing two Caribbean itineraries year round from Fort Lauderdale, an Eastern and Western itinerary – or both of course if you fancy. You can be one of the first guests to step foot on the most technologically advanced and innovative liner the world has seen to date on her 16th December 2018 maiden sailing. You’ll need to be quick though, this sailing is already sold out of all inside and ocean view stateroom types as well as Suite Class staterooms.

Want to see just what all the excitement is surrounding Celebrity Edge? Take a look at her here: https://youtu.be/J1qPFtz59rc

Id love to hear whats on your hot or not list for the coming year? I have way too much on mind to pack it all in!
