Cruise Consultants Let Loose on Costa!

No sorry not Costa Cruises – cruisedot staff visited the Costa Del Sol recently, or more accurately, came to visit myself and my colleague Dawn who live here, to enjoy a weekend of catching up, with the gossip, sun, and sightseeing!  And what fun we had!

Alison & Jane flew in on Saturday from the cold of the UK to the 28c sunshine of Malaga where Dawn picked them up and settled them into her spacious apartment in Fuengirola.

The next day, Sunday, I had booked a table at our local Beach Bar, Andy’s in Cabopino, and after the obligatory selfie’s in my apartment, we strolled along the beautiful boardwalk on the beach for lunch and live music in the sun.

We talked about the  temperature in the UK they’d just left, compared to Spain, and that they still needed to have their heating on during the day. whereas Dawn & I were grateful to have air con in our apartments to keep us cool!  1500 miles apart and 2 quite different seasons!

So after listening to the live band – Revival knock out hits from the 60’s 70’s & 80’s, bartering with the ‘looky-looky’ men for  Burberry & Michael Kors handbags, enjoying a few bevvies and a delicious lunch, I left my work colleagues at the beach, as I had reservations at one of my favourite restaurants later that evening to celebrate our 40th Ruby Wedding Anniversary with ‘the hubs.’

The girls enjoyed the next day on the beach, and like most sun-deprived Brits, stayed too long in the sunshine and paid the consequences!

So Tuesday we decided to go to Marbella, stroll around the beautiful Old Town exploring the narrow cobbled streets, filled with flowers, restaurants and shops!  Eventually having built up a thirst and an appetite, headed for a beautiful Tapas Bar  for Tapas & drinks, which is customary here, and a must do activity!

Then a final stroll along the beach, stopping to admire the view with a tasty ice cream, before heading back to pack and return to the UK.

It was such fun catching up with my workmates, as most of us work from home, and don’t get a chance to socialise as much as we would like. Of course most of the talk was work, which we all thoroughly enjoy, exchanging experiences on the various ships we’ve been lucky to visit and sail on.

All too soon though it was time to say goodbye, but not before agreeing to arrange a return visit soon!  Hasta La Proxima Vez Chicas!
