It Eclipsed all my expectations….

WOW, not a word that I use a lot… but having just returned from my first ever cruise with Celebrity Cruises on board the absolutely sunning Eclipse I must say that it completely exceeded all of my expectations.

Celebrity Cruises truly are 5* and there company profile of Modern Luxury really is spot on.  5* Contemporary, Modern, Chic…. Luxury without the stuffiness.  All of the crew on board were always smiling and could not have gone more out of the way to cater to absolutely any request given of them.  This being a Seminar at Sea – escorted by fantastic Sales & Training Managers of Celebrity Cruises – our group did get to do some very special unique things, as well as learning much more about Celebrity as a company and the beautiful Eclipse ship.  More to follow in future blogs about our “treats” and the amazing Dining, including my new favourite Speciality Restaurant at Sea… QSine.

There were 2 things that I was most looking forward to experiencing before my trip, and I am delighted to report back on thoroughly enjoying both..

The Silent Disco – definitely NOT silent, but absolutely hilarious before you arrive at Qasar you wonder what is going on as the sound of people singing along to 3 different songs drifts along the corridors of the ship… but once you put the headphones on and select your choice of tune you really can’t help but sing along.  This happened 2 nights whilst we were on-board, once in Qasar the nightclub area and the 2nd time in the main foyer area of Deck 3 as a battle of the DJ’s with the 3 channels being operated by 3 of the Entertainments crew. BOTH absolutely amazing nights, great fun.. 

The Lawn Club – this is unique to Celebrity Solstice Class ships, the Eclipse featured a Glass Blowing show in this area, which sadly we did not get to see, however I did managed to spend a few hours lying on the grass relaxing and reading my book before sailing away from Funchal when the Captain sounded his horn and awoke me from my relaxation !!.

The Celebrity Silhouette – a similar in design ship –  will be new to Southampton for 2018 sailings and also the brand new ship Celebrity Edge will include 1 sailing from Southampton on its way to operate itineraries in the Mediterranean next year, fantastic news for the company… For more details about these itineraries please follow the links below:
