STOP AND TAKE CONTROL …..

This week I wanted to talk Allergens and the importance of Stopping and Taking Control!! ….. For those of you that have read my previous blogs, will know I am Coeliac myself so I know what this means to me but does everyone else???? ….. ONLY …. If I stop and take control and ensure they do…. Luckily in the last year I have only had a couple of instances of which I was unaware to what the cause was as I really do try and look after myself as much as I possibly can and that is easy to do right? …..

Sometimes easier said than done!! …. I know what I was like when I first was diagnosed I didn’t want to be awkward or be that annoying one ….. BUT …. NO MORE!! …. This is even more important to me when I am travelling!! BUT travelling to a hotel in a resort where you have local supermarkets or different restaurants nearby or even Mcdonalds (In Tenerife) which cater is completely different to being on a cruise ship so where do you start …

For your own peace of mind here are some top tips to ensure you are organised, prepared and most of all have STOPPED AND TOOK CONTROL …..

  • Introduce yourself on board to the Restaurant Manager/Maitre d, get yourself known (The Waiters on board are very accommodating)
  • Don’t forget Room Service
  • Order your meals the night before for your following meal the next evening (DID YOU KNOW YOU COULD DO THIS)
  • Bring your own snacks … as long as they are sealed and pre packaged most cruise lines will allow this
